I have the same problem on my 2005 Malibu LS (w/ V6). I do not have keyless entry. The only way to unlock the car is by key. As I am driving down the road the doors lock and unlock automatically at random. I have no idea what is wrong. I checked the resistor in the fuse box and it seems ok (no corosion). I think I will replace it just in case. Any help please!!

Chevy said BCM but my question is this: The BCM does not know the doors are unlocked because it sets the alarm so it seems to me that there is an intermittent short in wiring to all locks that set these off? Mine unlocks shortly after getting out of the car and using the fob to lock the doors. If they are in the unlocked position by themselves the tailgate will not open with the button in the back because the BCM sees the doors as locked. And, yse the locks pop up during driving. They are to lock when trans is in gear and unlock in Park only! It's a security feature that is now worthless!.

If i had to guess i would say you have a shorted wire in the harness. this may be the problem or it could be a bad switch or relay also. trying to tell you what it is from is going to be really hard unless someone else with the same problem figured it out and is willing to tell what he did. i have a mustang 2002 and took the dirvers door wire harness out of the car and found two wires that been cut from inside the door on what i don't know. my door lock didn't work and my power mirror didn't work. at least your remote still works so you know the lock is getting power but something is bad some where and acting as a toggle swtich and that can be from to wires touching each other when you hit a bump in the road for example.

SOURCE: Horn alarm randomly beeps

Make sure to check all doors, the trunk latch, and the hood to ensure that they are shut. I have looked up your 2006 Chevy Malibu and there has been a lot of people complaining about the alarm system and it going off. There is a TBS (Technical Service Bulletin) out for your car. The TBS says that the Faulty Door Sensor. Take it to your local dealership and tell him what I found for you and they should get you a quote on how much it would cost to repair it.

Thank you for using Fix Ya!
Good Luck!

SOURCE: I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx. It has a TC

i think it stands for traction control. most cars with that say ETC which stands for electronic traction control. if you have a manual for the car it should say what it is.

SOURCE: 2008 chevrolet malibu door lock problem

You have a intermittent condition. To isolate the cause: 1.Disconnect the drivers door lock/unlock switch from the connector. Drive the vehicle and see if your random lock/unlock condition has stopped. If it has, replace the switch. If it hasn't:
2. You have a grounding problem or a problem in the BCM (Body Control Module) and should have a technician use a Tech 2 Diagnostic Link Tool to access the BCM computer to obtain any fault code data to help correct the condition.

What are the locations of the Remote Control Door Lock Receivers RCDLR in a 2015 Malibu?

According to GM there are 3 components in the RCDLR or RKE remote keyless entry system. My key fobs with new batteries only work standing right next to the car. The range of the key fob dropped at that the same time my TPMS tire pressure monitoring system repair warning came on my dashboard. The problem is that there are 4 different components on the 2015 Malibu. I will provide the GM part numbers for these, if you please tell me where they are and also how to replace them: #13583559 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver #13502554 Antenna #13502551 Ignition Lock Key Transmitter Antenna #13502549 Low Frequency Console Antenna

Check the fuse for the door locks first, then if nothing there look for a wiring diagram that shows the ground wire location and verify the ground is made. Also the driver side lock switch button could be the culprit

Doors automatically lock and unlock

It sounds like a keyless entry system. You may be sitting on an extra set of keys or if you have a keyless transmitter on your keychain that has loose batteries. Leave that keyless transmitter home and use you key to open the door. See if the problem goes away.
