First check to see if you are getting fuel.If no fuel in the carburator the replace fuel filter.If still no fuel replace the fuel pump.You can put a little bit of gas,about a table spoon fuel in the carb.if it runs then replace the fore mentioned.

    Oops,saw your name and not title of post.You can still do what I said,instead of carb how about throttle body.

Sounds like you are having a fuel problem with the fuel filter. If you have not had your car serviced in quite awhile i would do so. At least change the fuel filter and check the air filter as well. Hope thias will help you.

When i go to turn on the car it wont start it clicks once

I have a 1990 Ford Escort that starts revving but not accelerating when try to go faster than 25mph...Just started all of a sudden while driving.... possible reasons????

This is common on the fords.What causes this is the throtle air idle soliniod gets stuck.The only thing to do is replace it.Its quite a simple job has its placed on the inlet manifold with two bolts securing it.The part is around $45 to by.Hope that was helpfull to you.Good luck.

1991 ford escort 1.9l will start cold but when i go get gas abd try to start it, it will have spark when turning over, but wont start and the fuel cut out ligt is on?

there is a start and run side to the ing modugle which is controled by the pick up coil in the dist i have seen this before. do you have fuel take a can off carb clean and the next time this happens spray a little carb clean in the inlet snorkle of the air filter housing, the fuel pump eneratia switch giving problems.
