Does it turn over? Is it the same engine size? When you change engines did you disable the security system?

These cars were made with an anti theft security system. If you swapped motors, you may have interupted that system causing the the security to turn off the ijector fuel. Just a thought.

If i have a 1996 chevy cavalier i have the firing order for the spark plugs but need the order for the distributor or ignition coil

Firing Orders

    FIRING ORDERS

    See Figures 1 and 2
To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement.
If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes to reflect how your engine is wired.

My 1998 Chevy Cavalier turnsover but it won't start. Can someone tell me what is going on??

Three checks you can do yourself if you have a few tools. Is it getting fire, getting fuel, and cranking. Every engine needs both to run.

98 chevy cavalier turns over but won't start

i know industry jargon can be confusing, but lets try this. if it turns over but won't start, it could be your ''ignition module'' that sits on top of the vave cover on the motor or it might be the fuel pump or filter. make sure when you crank the engine that the key is all the way turned or it may not always make a proper contact to activate the ignition module. iv'e seen this before & had to change the ignition switch & all worked ok after that. i would need to know engine lt size to give you more details on the matter. please get back to me.

1997 chevy cavalier 2.2 engine, intermittent starting problem. Replaced plugs, wires, coil packs. Sometimes it will start and run like a champ. Other times you can't get ut to start at all. I've...

When you say it won't start, do you mean it cranks but won't fire, or it just won't crank? If it just won't crank, you could be having an issue with the starter relay. The often become intermittent before failure. Many owners do not know there is a starter relay because it was added as a recall item i order to protect the iginition switch from burnout. The starter relay is located in the very front of the engine compartment, just to the left of the battery, on the back side of the radiator crossmember.

I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier z24 it is making a squealing noise when I give it gas, so we have changed the Idler Pulley because that needed to be replaced, and changed the Alternator, because the bearing...

Without hearing the squealing the only things I could suggest would be the other rotating components in your system like the AC compressor/Water pump/ Power Steering pump. Could also be a bad tensioner. Hope this helps, good luck
