When driving tahoe the engine shuts off sometimes can restart, but now it took 24 hrs before restarting chevy garage check codes nothing
I am on here because of an issue i am currently having with a 2004 tahoe, but after reading some the other problems people are having i will let you in on a previous experience i had with a 2002 chevy truck. my previous vehicle was a 02 chevy 2500hd with the 8.1 and the problem started on day when suddenly it shut off. it did restart with no problem. i never had that problem again until a month later and 1500 miles away when i went to texas to visit my sister. this time it took nearly 30 mins before it would restart. it would crank over fine but no fire. then suddenly out of no where it would fire up like nothing ever happened. so anyways to make a long story short i visited two different gm service centers, they did tune ups and diagnostics, and handed me the bills for over 500 dollars and told me that should do it. yea right the problem continued and then i searched online and one item that kept coming up was the crank position sensor. after reading what those people were dealing with i gave it a shot. went to the dealer bought a new sensor ($99) took an hour to install it and i never had the problem again. one last thing im gonna add. i had a friend that drove a late 90s or early 2000s grad prix, she was having the same problem and had her car in and out of the shop and never got it resolved, i told her to have them check the crank position sensor and bingo, she never had the problem again.
I have a 95' 2-door tahoe and it just died on me out of nowhere, twice, first time I nearly died bc the steering wheel locked and it wouldnt start back up, but after I stopped and put it from neutral to park it fired right up, and drove fine for a good 2 1/2 hours and as I came off the interstate it died completely, and as I rolled to the side (in neutral) I attempted to start it again, but it would never fire up... I tried several times, also pumped the gas while doing so, NOTHING. I have just changed my fuel pump 2 weeks from todays date.
Could this be a fuel pump problem? B/c I havent got a clue as to what it could be, Im about ready to LiGhT this CONSTANT PROBLEM on fire & say screw it... HELP!!!
Is your motor turning over but not starting, or is it not doing anything?? if it is turning over but not starting, i would suggest you start with a fuel filter, if you have got into some bad gas your filter may be clogged, and by letting it sit for an extended period of time the trash settles in the bottom and will allow you to get fuel again, but eventually gets stirred up again and clogs the filter, i was a mechanic at a GM dealer for years, and that is the cheapest and easiest thing i would try first
Im having simlar problems with my 1998 tahoe but only does it when its hot outside and the car has been driven for a few miles at hwy speeds. could it also be the crank position sensor
Have you done anything different to this car recently? Has anyone else
serviced it recently? If so, perhaps something was not connected right.
Sometimes when you have a key ring with a zillion keys weighing it down
it could affect your ignition switch! Try a different key.
Maybe you need a tuneup if you haven't had one in years!
If you have an automatic it won't start until you put your foot on the
brake - there is a switch on that brake that could be defective.
Bad fuel or fuel starvation could cause some stalling too!
I had a car once that developed a small hole in a rubber fuel line
causing the car to **** air and stall. Check you fuel lines especially
if they are rubber.

replace fuel pump relay. check all fuses to ignition and pcm .make sure they are not loose. check coil wires make sure they not loose.look at battery if you have the ac delco seal battery make sure green eye still there .if its black have battery check out.
