I would start with replacing the airfilter(if dirty) and fuel filter.especially the the fuel they clog up and give you sufficient pressure but no flow

Good luck looking for the external fuel filter , NONE . The problem unfortunately is filter/ pump . This is a messy time consuming job , but can be done easily yourself . Just be sure you disconnect the battery and de-pressurize the fuel system and an empty tank . Try to avoid metal tools when opening the tank . Use plenty of wd-40 on all the bolts and be careful removing the hoses as many of the connections made of plastic .
Best to watch a video on you tube before you even start or think about taking on the job.n

I've got a 1996 jeep grand Cherokee with the 5.2 v8 fuel injected Holley throttle body. My problem is while driving at soft or low acceleration it accelerates fine, but if you hit the throttle hard it

I would check the voltage on the throttle portion sensor with the engine off from idle to wide open throttle. If there are any dead spots, replace the sensor. If the tps checks out, you should check fuel pressure. If you have good fuel pressure, you may want to make sure there isn't a lot of slack in your timing chain. I don't believe you mentioned the mileage of your vehicle. Best of luck.

1996 Jeep Cherokke 5.2 grand laredo, missing on acceleration found loose distributer need to set timing.

Base (initial) ignition timing is NOT adjustable. Do not attempt to adjust ignition timing by rotating the distributor. All ignition timing functions are controlled by the Powertrain Control Module.Adjusting the timing on a Jeep Grand Cherokee requires special tools and an understanding of engine mechanics. Changing the timing on a Jeep Grand Cherokee with distributor-less ignition requires professional reprogramming of the powertrain control module. This guide covers Jeep Grand Cherokee models with distributed ignition only. you can go to this site and it will explain it. www.ehow.com/how_4521340_adjust-timing-jeep have a good day !!

A slight hesitation after engine shut off due to engine running rich meaning not meeting golden air:gas ratio of 14.6:1 so fuel residue in chamber continue to burn for the last moment. The same rich fuel problem that was why you had to let gas off during acceleration. Need to Check out the O2 sensor Check out MAP sensor Good luck
