You would have to remove door panel and remove the two nuts fastening the window to the window motor regulator then slide window up and use tape to hold it up until you can get it repaired

What if the power window is held in with a scissor lift. I am having this problem. I want to just lift the window and I can not figure out how to get the scissor lift off.

Try pouring alcahol down the switch and let dry. My window wouldn't go up but went down fine. I took my trickle battery charger for my motorcycle and used it to send a charge to the the motor inside the door panel, bypassing the switch. This did get the window up until I could replace the master switch. If the window goes up, your motor is fine. If you reverse the charger wires to the motor, this will power the window down. Hope this is helpful !

You have to remove motor and a few bolts. It is a pain because you may have rivits going through the motor and those have to be drilled out, then you have to slide regulator(sicssors) through the side opening. If you just want to get the window up, look at previous post. If you cant get window to power up or down, using this method, you need a motor. Easy to replace.

Pontiac Montana 2004 drivers side power window stopped. Will not open. Can't find right fuse. Where is it?

It's not a fuse problem , all the other windows work ? One Circuit breaker powers all windows . Probably the window regulator is bad or the switch or the motor . Pull the door panel off the driver door an test the electrical circuits . Could also have wires broken inside the body to door flex joint (black rubber boot )

Power window (drivers side) quit working on my 2000 Pontiac Montana. Can't be a fuse issue as the passenger side still works. Any ideas on a fix?

More than likely just a faulty switch. Sometimes you can take them apart and clean them. Or, just go to an auto wrecker and get another one.

I have a 2004 Pontiac Montana and the drivers side power sliding door will not close when you press the button. It starts to close and then when it gets a couple inches from latching it just opens back up....

hi...

this is because the door has an option called as anti pich smart window mechanism.this is provided to prevent our hands from crushing when the window been closed. if you keep your hands when closing the window wil come down.there may be some obstruction which is activating this mechanism. check this.

2002 pontiac montana passanger pwr window

I beleive you need to change the Power Window Switches Module in the drivers side door panel, as these connections are interlinked within this module and it is usually the first part that fails. Especially that you already changed the switches & motor in the passenger door and it still does not work. Once you remove the dual switch module in the driver's side door, you will understand what I mean. Plus it is really easy to access. Good luck! I have the same model, Claude

How to get window up,think motor is bad on drivers side.

Check the wires in the door post, the may be broken due to years of twisting from the door being opened and closed. If you find no problem there then check the wireing under the passenger side floormat for rotted or broken wires.
