Where is the gas regulator located on a 1996 jeep cherokee (2wd) ? Why is my jeep turning off and want start, until it sits for awhile; I have change the fuel filter and fuel pump?
no country tool or engine but the FSm says (USA) all engine this year FPR is on top of fuel pump. photos and all diesel is other matter.
some jeeps this era are diesel in Europe. see what I mean. post the VIN and we see that. wiki had 2 diesel see em here.

You meant the fuel pressure regulator? It is located on the fuel rail and has vacuum attached to it. This is not the problem with your car tho. Check the ignition module, and the ignition coil.
The fuel Pressure Regulator on a 96 Cherokee is in the fuel tank and is part of the fuel pump assembly. well first off if is a 1996 i am almost 100% sure it doesent have a carb on it. and if its not getting gas u should try changing your fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. hope this helps u out, good luck to u
well the real deal is they are suppose to turn on but only till the alarm activates then they go off after 10 seconds if that is not the deal you need to have the elctronics checked buy a pro
there is also a cam sensor and throttle position sensor, any codes, fuel npump can test ok but jeeps are noted to have the fuel tank sock come off in the tank and the fuel pumps can have intermittent starting problems. I hope thiis helps
