Re: 2002 camry - Need to replace broken console lid
Solved it. Found a small shank screwdriver that fitted into the opening with a little bending of the plastic frame. managed to replace it with a new one without trouble. No further help needed. dave

Depending on where you are located, I would either take the vehicle by your local Toyota Dealer or locate (through your online search engine) a specialized foreign/domestic auto repair shop and ask a service advisor if they can take a look at it and pre-determine (prior to spending money) if they have had problems in the past with them? Then I would inquire if they could kindly assist you in repairing the issue. More than likely something is jamming the release from opening, or it is internally broke and will need to be replaced.
TRUNK LID ELECTRIC LATCH NOT WORKING MORE LIKELY ITS BROKEN.YOU HAVE TO USE KEY THE OPEN THE TRUNK LID, IF TRUNK LID GETTING POWER, THE ELECTRIC LATCH HAS TO BE REPLACED.
Turn off the car before changing the air filter. Don't start the car
once the air
filter
has been removed, it acts as a barrier were the car to backfire.
Locate the box that houses the air filter. Look in the front driver's side of the
car, closest to the windshield, near the center of the engine
compartment.
Undo the clips that keep the housing lid secure. Lift the lid and
compress the accordion-type tubing towards the engine.
Remove the old filter from the housing unit. Clean any leaves or debris out
of the box.
Replace the old filter with a new filter that is made for the specific make and
model year of your Toyota Camry. Use a K&N air filter, part number 33-2260,
for a Camry
manufactured from 2002 to 2007.
Pull the lid back over to the air filter housing unit, and snap it in place.
Reattach the clips to secure the lid.
It is under the N. One has to remove the center console and the black part where the letters are: L,N,D etc. It has 2 claws in one side and 2 in the other and one can lift it and see down inside the Sylvania 2723LL lamp with a green cover. Put the green cover on the new lamp. There are not screws only claws and clips and one claw in the Center Console. Where the letters are located it's call Indicator Housing Upper.
its more fiddly than hard before you start look st the cable where it joins the latch and start following it back toward the lever you may have to lift some floor mats etc and the cable should be secured with clips along the way if you think you can get it out take it with you when you go to buy the new 1 and make sure they are the same. if this helps please rate joe
