Looking for a diagram on removing and replacing the neutral safety switch on a 96 chrysler town and country

The problem with that is you can not turn it because all that you have to work with is a plastic housing that sticks out of the trans.

The Neutral Safety Switch function is controlled by the Transaxle Range Sensor (TRS). This Switch is Located ON the Transmission with Plug Facing UP and it is on the Bumper / Driver Side of the Transmission You Simply UNPLUG Electrical Connecter, And then the Unit Screws Out of Transmission Counterclock Wise, Install REVERSE Procedure.
NOTE: Be sure to have a DRAIN PAN Under your Work Area as there May be SOME Fluid Drainage When Switch is Removed, Swap them Fast if Fluid Comes out Fast so as NOT to have to Replace A Bunch of Trans. Fluid.

Key stuck in ignition of 2009 chrysler town and country

Try to start it in neutral. If it starts then it sounds like a neutral safety switch. If the battery is dead it may not let the key out unless you jump the van.

How to replace neutral safety switch

On the 1998 Town and Country, the neutral safety switch is inside the transmission . If you are not of the faint of heart, remove the bottom transmission pan and the lower valve body (do not loose any springs or little shiny steel balls), take the old one out and put the new one in and make sure to put the valve body in. The part costs around $50.00. A reputable shop will do it for less than $300.00.

CHANGE THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH AND THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE SOLVED. THE FIRST SIGN OF THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH GOING BAD IS NOT STARTING IN PARK. KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK
