There is a solenoid specific for 3rd and 4th gear. It is called the B solenoid and is located just below the A solenoid. It has a clip on connector and is attached to the trans with one bolt. It could be something else but because you have first and second I would highly suspect this solenoid. You can check it yourself by taping the posts with wires connected to the pos and neg battery terminals. If you hear a clicking noise, it is working.

1st.. check fuse for clutch solenoid/relay. 2nd... replace clutch solenoid/relay. 3rd... check for damaged wiring to trransmission or connector to transmission. If all these are correct, see your Ford Dealer.

There is no solenoid. Solenoids are mechanical actuators and don't operate electrical components.

The glow plug control module is in the picture.

your starter relay is defective it is located where the fuse box is located..look for the marked starter relay then replace it with a new one..

whether it is the smaller (4R70w) or the bigger (E4OD), the solenoids are under the pan. The E4OD solenoids are in one big block where the other trans has them seperated

They are round "cans" with wires attached. You should have SSA, SSB, SSC, Torque converter and Pressure Control solenoids. They control pressures and have no mechanical linkage.

geode07 : Not knowing which shift solenoid you are seeking, I will give you both.
The first has to do with the internals of the transmission. The "Transmission" shift solenoid referenced there is located within the main control body assembly.
The second is referred to as a "Shift interlock Solenoid"
This is located within the steering column.
