Relieve alternator tension by releasing tension on the belt (it's the A/C pulley you get to it from inside the drivers wheel well), Remove the bolts holding the alternator to the bracket on the block, remove the two bracket bolts on the block and remove the bracket. Loosen the two bracket arms (marked L and R) of the top of the radiator and push the radiator forward about two inches, you will now have enough clearance to get the alternator out of the top (where the radiator was). Easy Peasy. Good luck!

mitsubishi offered several different motors, if you have a 4G63 or 4G64 (spyder), it is under the intake manifold, you will need to remove the battery to make it easier.
If you have the dodge 420a motor, I don't know off the top of my head

You can get the alternator out but you need to remove all the brackets also. And that is a fair piece of work. I think one of the bolts to the bracket is behind the A/C pump to that has to come off also. If I was to do this job again. I would try removing the radiator and see if it comes out the front. Just my two cents worth - good luck.

If you are mechanically inclined, you can remove the tires, brake caliper, pads, assembly, disc. Remove, drive shaft nut. Disconnect tie rod end, strut, push out of place the drive shaft. Then you have to remove the ball joint nut that holds the knuckle in place and lastly you will have to send the knuckle to a machine shop to have the bearing pressed out or if you have a press, you are gold...
As you can see, it is quite some work, but it can be done under 2 hours each side.
The good news is that once you have them swaped and everything put back together. The car will feel a million times newer ;) (the "like on rails" feel)
