There is a link below that provides a fairly good description but in addition it is worth noting, especially considering the age of the vehicle, it is wise to begin the troubleshooting by ensuring the fuel pressure and delivery volume is good and the injectors are spraying properly - large fuel droplets don't burn very well and although lots of fuel is being injected it can register as a lean mixture though as a basic code read is only the first step in a diagnostic process, this condition would be recognised as a rise in unburned hydrocarbons during the exhaust emission test...

SOURCE: 2004 Chrysler Pacifica Fluctuating Fuel Gauge Indicator

Hello, the answer to solve this problem is to take it to your nearest chrysler dealer and have them re-flash the updates to the ecu....since 2004, chrysler has had about 4-5 new updates since the date they were manufactured....you need to have the update that followed from your date of man. on your vehicle....They attempted to flash mine to the latest update and didnt work, turns out that they need the re-flash from back when...in order to get the gauage to stop fluctuating.....Hope this helps!!

SOURCE: i have a code p2096, post catalyst trim system too

put a new rear O2 sensor and it fixed it. Only problem you might have is if you have an aftermarket downpipe. If it is Catless then you are going to need some type of tune, opensource, Cobb AP, etc.... Even if it is a high flow cat then you will still need a tune because it will throw a code 75% of the time. If your stock cat is still on then replace your rear O2 sensor and that should fix it. Could be something else but mine was the exact same problem.

SOURCE: 2004 chrysler pacifica service tire system light

Make sure that your tire pressure sensors were not damaged. one simple way to check what tire sensor is causing the problem is to lower each tire individually and check to see if the message displays to a different tire or more than 1, depending on the TPM system your pacifica has. Chrysler has a TPM (tire pressure monitor) tester which can check each individual sensor for correct operation. and the sensor's batteries have typically a 5-7 year life span.

I have a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and need to change the O2 sensors. These are the OBD codes I am getting when my check engine light came on. P2096 P0137. What I am trying to figure out is which is bank 1 on...

bank 1 cyl 1 if 02 sensor fault is present replace both sensors with oe part as sometimes after market sensors may not be compatible.both sensors because 1 will be week and will cause the same failure later provided the cat is ok and does not store a cat efficiency fault.

Pacifica has a gas smell inside car

On a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, I found a plastic line connecting the fuel line coming from the tank to the fuel rail. This line was leaking . Because it was located very close to the HVAC system, that explained the gas smell inside the car.

I have 2 codes showing on my 2004 chrysler sebring.? P2096 AND p0137. what do they mean and how do I know what parts to get to fix the problem.

P0137 O2 Sensor Bank 1, Sensor 2 Voltage Low
P2096 Down Stream Fuel System Bank 1, Sensor 2 Lean

There are 3 possible engines in your vehicle, a 2.4L 4-cyl, a 2.7L V-6, and a 3.0L V-6. If your car has a 4-cyl then there is only one downstream O2 sensor. This is where you need to start the diagnosis for code P0137.
While it would be nice to assume that the sensor is faulty, the sensor wiring between sensor and PCM could be the problem as well.
That said, you are looking for a DOWNSTREAM OXYGEN SENSOR. I strongly advise that the replacement be OEM compatable. Avoid Universal Replacement types that use **** connectors to make them work.
Good Luck!
