On my 84 Camaro the choke light comes on and shortly after that the car will die. Where should I start to look for the problem

My guess is if you changed to an older style sending unit, you could eliminate that electric pump & just use your mechanical one as they did before EFI.

If at the begining the car would run at a longer time span than now replace the coil. Coils tend to die out slowly

Can the slave cylinder be relocated a bit closer to the fork.... also is the pressure plate(fingers or diaphram type) distorted, is the clutch disc and throw out bearing worn out or miss aligned? Also check the fork and the pivot to see if it is bent or worn that whole linkage deal needs to be tight any worn parts will throw the whole clutch out of align.
May have to pull the tranny back out to recheck everything from scratch....make sure the motor and trans. mounts are in shape.
