Hello I have a problem with my 2005 buick lacrosse cx. The shifter mount broke and will not shift thru the gears. Can someone please give me the steps to fix this problem please. Thanks for any answers

Sampson, sounds like a bunt out bulb, which will need changed.
If you feel comfortable doing it yourself. Basically three screws, and you have to pull one plastic fastener from the fascia (bumper) and pull the bumper back a bit, and pull the assembly out. Have you completed this? The center console needs to be removed to see all of the plug ins, and mounting bolts...the console also has screws at the bottom of the inside that need to be removed...this will expose the shifter assembly...hope this helps,

Check fluid level first with car running

you can shift it at transmission by hand to neutral or park and have someone inside start the car and you manually put in gear under hood and drive it to shop or garage, wherever

sounds more like a gear selector cable.
kick down cable would normally be connected to the throttle somewhere and would not affect the shift lever

Did you reconnect the shift link on the transmission?
