SOURCE: How many miles can a 1993/1994 GMC Suburban go?
For $1500 you really can not go wrong. I am not a big fan of domestic vehicles but the trucks from General Motors have priven to be quite durable as well as economical to repair. Parts can be found at any salvage yard or parts store saving you money on repairs. Ease of operation is great and almost anyone you meet has some knowledge of repair for these trucks. Now, for the main question.... I have personally seen these trucks go for anywhere from 150,000 - 300,000 miles depending on the strength of maintenance by previous owners. My advice would be to have $200 when you get the truck home to replace filters, fluids and spark plugs (AC Delco plugs ONLY, if you don't you will trigger a check engine light even if it is running well). If there are any cracks in the serpentine belt, replace it. When you do this, make sure that you are able to read the writing on the belt like holding a book in your hand. If not, it may cause squeeking even on a new belt. Let me know if you need anything else.
