Could be any reasons. I would suggest taking it to a repairman and get a scan done to check for error codes.

Engine shuts off when idiling, and when running

Hi Anthony, Sounds to me as if you possibly have a problem with fuel delivery? When did you last have the vehicle serviced? Have a diagnostic scan carried out in the event that a sensor is giving problems. Regards John

2004 murano

Temporary fix until you find someone who knows.
When you pull into your place to park the car for the night, or whatever, go ahead and unhook the battery. Re-hook up the battery when you are ready to drive it again. That will at least keep you from not driving it at all.

I would look at your Lower control arms. The part is about $200 - usually the silicone filled bushing go bad (it's pretty common) but you can't replace them they are part of the arm. I have a 2005 Murano and that was my issue. it sounds kind of like a deadened repeated thud on road imperfections. mine was less noticeable on hwy. It's annoying i know.
