SOURCE: 94 GMC sonoma needs head gasket
no real pit falls just drain coolant remove head have head checked at machine shop. Clean engine surface good and rise good with brake clean, make sure head gasket is on correct before head goes on bolt down with proper torque and sequence then finish up then drain oil.

It is the Same Motor, Just Built Different with the Internal Components and the Computer. You may want to change out the Computer Boxes as well if you can Locate one for that Motor. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

try the fuel pump relay... had the same problem... 94 sonoma .. it's the one up under the dash... cost me 400.... i didnt know where the darn thing was!!! chaeck all the normal stuff first...

Try changing the fuel lines, if they are cloged from debris that could be the cause.

The ignition module in the distributor is what you need to give the engine spark to the plugs. It senses signals from the PCM to regulate the spark control and this item is the part that took over the old style point & condensor type ignitions. It is time for a new one in your truck
