Would you please write back and elaborate on why your Astro won't stay running? Have you looked under the hood for faulty wiring at the battery or around the engine? Sometimes by looking around you can stumble across defects. Have you tested any systems? I would like to get an idea of what type of advice you are looking for. If you could give me an idea of what you have for tool and experience. I think I could help you better. Has the van had any recent work performed? After the engine is started. How long will the engine run before it stalls? Will it run long enough to reach running temperature? after the engine starts. How does the engine run? Is the idle and acceleration normal? Is the engine light on? Is the security light on?

Sounds like the alternator isn't working properly. If the battery is being "cooked" or overcharged the voltage regulator (built into the alternator) is broken. If it's not being charged enough, same problem. Either way, I believe you'll need to replace the alternator or at the very least have a shop replace the voltage regulator.

should be at the bottom of the radiator at the right side (if you where in the car)
SOURCE: 1997 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 p0758 Won't shift
P0758 code is shift solenoid B electrical /2-3 shift solenoid circuit electrical, It better to inspect the wire going into the transmission they have a tendency to leak transmission fluid into the circuit make inspection for proper connection if you decide to replace the solenoid you still need to inspect the circuit for proper mating. If this solenoid fails and you wait to long to replace it you can loose the ECM due to the high power draw it takes from the ECM.
SOURCE: Hood latch won't open on
Try this. While pulling on the lever in side of the car have a helper pound on the hood in the center right above where the latch is. 9 time out of 10 they will pop right open.
