The charging system on that vehicle is computer controlled an can set DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Your best bet , have a qualified repair shop check it . Without proper tools (scan tool ) An service repair info you will not fix it .

SOURCE: = 07 ford five hundred ac problems

First off,is the ac compressor turning? If so are the large line, near where you put freon in,cold? If the low side lines(large lines)are cold and sweating, and the evaporator box is dripping water on the ground, then the ac is most likely fine. There is a temp door in the ac blower box, that moves for hot,or cold when you select these comfort levels. This door is most likely controlled by a actuator motor. This motor is most likely bad.If it is control by vacuum, look for a broken vacuum hose,or one that has come loose under hood.

You need to have the transmission serviced. The wrench indicates that the fluid in your transmission is out of spec or you have an out of spec pressure condition.

2005 ford five hundred while driving and coming to stop, all electrical shuts off for 1-2 seconds then power back on. The engine will idle down and up a small amount a few times right before this.

Are there any warning lights on the Dashboard? I suggest you get the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic system or an OBD2 scanner to look for trouble codes. Different garages charge different prices so try a few different places as prices can be Very different. The symptoms could be a sensor failing causing other problems elsewhere in the vehicle.

2005 ford five hundred check charging system fault? I have heard it is usually the voltage regulator in the alternator so it is best to replace the old one with a new alternator, not rebuilt.

When the car is running check the voltage at the battery. Usually the voltage is high 13 or 14, this would indicate alternator is working fine. If you do not have a volt meter you can remove the negative cable from the battery while car is running. If the car keep running the alternator is working. If the car die then the alternator is bad. After the car crank the alternator provides all the electrical power for the car, it also recharges the battery. If your v-belt/fan belt/serpentine belt is loose or bad it can cause the alternator to not put out as it should. These are a couple check you can try. Some auto parts store where I live will put a volt meter on your battery to see if your alternator is putting out for free where I live.

Replacement of serpentine belt on a 2005 Ford five hundred

The actual serpentine belt does not affect timing. There should be a belt path sticker label under the hood. There is a spring tension pulley which can have a fitting cast on it for a racket or breaker bar drive. This is used as a handle, but on some units a firm hand can press on this tension pulley to provide slack for the belt to slip off and be replaced. Check Youtube for videos on this subject.

Have a load test done on the battery to check for failing cell. Have an auto electrician check the alternator for correct output at revs. Check drive belt for condition and tension.

My battery light came on and soon after, my truck stopped running while driving it. I replaced the battery. My truck runs for a little bit then all the systems shut down and the truck shuts itself off...

It sounds like it is the alternator. It is not charging the battery like it should be. It might be your serpentine belt is too loose also. Get that checked first. but more than likely your looking at replacing the alternator.

Car would not start, replaced battery and car is not charging battery. Why won't car charge battery?

sounds like the alternator is not charging the battery properly,, this could be caused by either a bad alternator or a loose alternator belt.
