    What codes are reported?

  • Ruby Venus Barrera Nov 10, 2019

Everything I changed was what the codes gave me..P0446...p0336..p0455

The intake air preheat, or stove, can cause problems when stuck on full heated intake air.

  • Ruby Venus Barrera Nov 10, 2019

Thank you..I will check every thing that was suggested..

  • Vernon Taylor Nov 10, 2019

It is unwise to take codes too literally - a single fault often causes several seemingly unrelated codes. A code read is merely the first step in a diagnostic process that is systematically checking stuff and not replacing anything until other tests prove it to be faulty.

  • Ruby Venus Barrera Nov 10, 2019

The codes were from the diagnostic done on my tahoe when the check engine light went on..someone told just today it might be the fuel pump..because it sounds like the gas is going through but it is either the fuel pump or fuel filter..

  • Ruby Venus Barrera Nov 10, 2019

I forgot to mention that when I put gas in my tahoe, I have to put the gas very very slowly or it will squirt a lot of gas back at me..

  • Vernon Taylor Nov 10, 2019

When the fuel pump is running the fuel is circulating through the fuel rail, the pressure regulator and back to the tank - when the engine is off but the pump running it is almost always audible. Far better to stop guessing and follow a systematic approach to the problem.

Faults codes? If there are no codes the fault is probably outside the engine management sphere.

In order to start and run an engine needs among other things, spark and fuel. You need to discover what it hasn't got when it stops.

Try chamging some lug nuts.. no, need to trouble shoot and varify defective system parts before replacing, you know.
Is there spark, vacuum, fuel injector signal? Temperature related, varify temperature sensors ohms at current temperature, for coolant, intake air. EGR valve. Broken vacuum tubes or rotted and leaking.
Check and trouble shoot while its having a tantrum.

Thank you. There may be an obstruction in the gas tank filler tube. The gas tank also has a vent tube to the ch.canister that should not clog or be plugged.
Some electronics, such as ignition module, can quit working after the component warms up.
If you run the Tahoe engine with gas cap removed and keeps running, say there's a fuel tank vent hose problem, though some fuel caps allow one way venting, in ward.

Thank you..I will check on that..this is very helpful.

Check vacuum lines to the throttle body while the engine is running. Mine had a slit in a line and I found it by accident.

Where is the canister purge valve solenoid located on the car EVAP

All modern cars are equipped with an Evaporative Emission Control (EVAP)
system. The EVAP system prevents fuel vapors from the fuel tank from escaping into the atmosphere. The EVAP system collects and temporarily stores the fuel vapors in the charcoal canister. The charcoal canister is filled with activated carbon pellets that can absorb the fuel vapors. When the engine is running, the fuel vapors are purged from the canister and burned in the engine.

I changed everything on a 2007 chevy uplander the camshaft position sensor And the purged sensor And the throttle body and It cam up a new code p0449

DTC P0449: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Control Circuit , your vent solenoid is opened or the wiring circuit is . The vent solenoid is by the charcoal canister at the gas tank .
P0449 Battery voltage is supplied to the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve. The control module grounds the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve control circuit to close the valve by means of an internal switch called a driver. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve as ON or OFF. The control module monitors the status of the driver.

How do you replace the evap. purge valve solenoid on 2005 kia sportage

The canister purge valve is a computer controlled solenoid valve that allows any stored fuel vapors in the charcoal canister to be recycled back into the engine combustion process. The valve is typically located on or near the throttle body. The canister purge valve is controlled by the power train control module (PCM). The canister purge valve is closed each time the power train computer runs the OBD-II (Onboard Diagnostic Generation II) EVAP monitoring self-test.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2005 dodge stratus troubleshooting code P0441

This indicates that a part of the EVAP control system is no longer fuctioning correctly. The EVAP system consists of many parts, including (but not limited to) the gas cap, fuel lines, carbon canister, purge valve, and other hoses. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.

EVAP emission canister purge is contolled by a valve which allows engine vacuum to pull stored fuel vapors from fuel tank into the engine to be burned, rather than be vented to atmosphere. A vacuum switch is used to detect when flow exists. If the PCM commands purge and sees that the switch is closed (indicating no detected purge flow) P0441 is set.

Symptoms: Likely, no symptoms will be discernible to the driver, other than the illuminated Check Engine Light.

Causes: A code P0441 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
Bad vacuum switch
Broken or damaged EVAP line or canister
Open in PCM purge command circuit
Open or short in Voltage feed circuit to Purge Solenoid
Faulty purge solenoid
Restriction in EVAP solenoid, line or canister
Corrosion or resistance in purge connector
Bad PCM

Possible Solutions: With a P0441 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:
Common Chrysler fix - Replace Leak Detection Pump / LDP
Repair damaged EVAP lines or canister
Repair open or short in voltage feed circuit to Purge Solenoid
Repair open in PCM purge command circuit
Replace purge Solenoid
Replace vacuum switch
Repair restriction in Evap line or canister or soleniod
Repair resistance in purge connector
Replace PCM

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

It wont turn on,i have to give it some gas to make it come on.and when i press the brakes to stop it turns off and it pop up the codes P0440-P0014-P1345(gmc envoy 2002 )

P0440: This indicates that a part of the EVAP control system is no longer fuctioning correctly. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine, you will likely not notice driveability problems with this code.

P0014: This indicates a camshaft position sensor problem which could cause your driveabilty issues.

P1345: This is a crankshaft or camshaft position sensor malfunction which could also be an issue with your driveabilty, i would have this checked by a professional scan tool such as a modis.
