SOURCE: can't find negative connection on remote terminal battery

Just attach the negative cable to any metal ground. This will protect the battery in the Olds and still enable you to jump start your car. Best of luck.

New here. I have inherited a Patterson eventer 4 golf buggy, new batteries, refurbished but has to be reassembled. Is there a wiring diagram for the batteries? Thanks Raymond McGee

Fitting batteries to any vehicle large or small you use the same basic rules.
You ALWAYS wire batteries positive to negative, (+ to -, or red to black).
You NEVER connect more than one wire to each battery terminal post.
The batteries on a golf buggy run in a basic 'serial' setup. You link the batteries together as a chain. The batteries and cables should 'snake' across the battery box with an open positive terminal post at one end and an open negative terminal post at the other end ready to connect to the correct leads on the buggy.

Which side is the positive and negative on starter

The casing on the starter is always the negative. One pole on the starter is for power and the smallest pole is for the ignition wire to link to, or it can be a plug on some cars and trucks. One of the larger poles will have a wire that goes into the starter that is not the pole that you should ever put the cable from the battery on it will be the pole that does not have a wire on it.

As seen in this pic terminal M has the wire that goes to the starter that should never have a wire atached to it from the battery. Terminal S is the ingition wire, and terminal B is the pole for the battery cable. The holes for the casing are the ground from the motor to the starter. I hope that this helps you.

If the negative cable head is not properly mounted to the primary & secondary neg. cable wires would i loose power to everything as if there was no battery at all?

the negative wires are the main source or everything returning to the negative terminal of the battery. If they are . broken or dirty then there is no track back to the negative pole of the battery and so you will loose everything.

I get no ignition but have good battery power

You probably have a loose wire from banging around changing that light!! jk. So to figure out turn key on and leave on get under the hood and see if you have any voltage to the ignition solenoid. Put a test light on the terminal and touch the other side to the frame or negative post of battery. If no power there follow that wire to the Pos post of battery and clean it or tighten it. If you have power there at the solenoid take a screw driver and jump it from the battery terminal side to the other terminal which is the cable that supplies the power to your starter...that should crank the starter ...but if doesn't get underneath and tighten or clean that cable where it hooks to the starter. That should work unless the started is killed ... and needs replaced.. Very unlikely. Last thing to check if none of that is going well is make sure that somewhere you have a good clean connection between the negative pole of your battery and the frame or metal on motor of the vehicle. The lights might be working only because they have their own grounding wire...where as the starter only has a positive cable and will only work it the negative (ground) is well attached to the body/motor (METAL) of the vehicle.

I have a 1996 hyundai accent it ran fine took battery off and put it back on now no spark and wont start

Check the ground wire, a black connected to the ( - ) pole, it might have been disconnected. Clean the battery clamp and battery terminals from rust and oxidation, tighten up the TERMINAL. Remember ( + )positive pole is RED and negative ( - ) pole is black, sometimes no plastic cover!

On a battery for a 1994 BMW 530 Touring, where are the negative and positive poles located when battery is in place, under the rear seat?

Golden rule with batterys..

The Positive terminal is ALWAYS physically larger that the Negative.(ie larger battery post ) The Negative will be the EARTH connection ( bolted to car body and engine) There may be hard to see (-) or (+) on battery leads . Colours do not matter either as manufacturers vary on this !
Good Luck

HOW DO I INSTALL A SOLENOID

Hi! I presume your solenoid is the one on top of the starter motor? and you possibly have it off the vehicle? if the solenoid is seperate from the starter and you are looking at it face on?(This should work for both) Disconnect the Negative - pole battery lug and make sure it can't touch the terminal of the battery. Follow the Positive + heavy cable to the solenoid right hand lug/terminal & connect the other lug/terminal is to starter, there should be a small possibly Black/white wire with a female spade connection this goes to the Male spade on the solenoid. To be safe and in case the heavy cables to and from battery/starter/solenoid being in contact where they shouldn't be just touch lightly the Negative- Battery lug with the heavy Negative battery cable, if all is well there shouldn't be any flashing/arcing however if you are running a immobiliser/alarm this might go off & show as light spark at thge terminal so be prepared. It can take you unawares
Good luck! I hope this helped,
