SOURCE: Heater/AC control

sounds like the contacts are worn and it is arcing . remove the switch far enough to inspect the contacts and see if there isn't a burn mark on it.

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash. You should have someone check the blend doors to see if they are working correctly.

Heater will not switch to floor vent

Heater door diaphram not working, either has a vacuum leak or the main control needs to be replaced. The A/C-Heater switches work with both electricity/vacuum at the same time, the switch may be bad, replace it.
