The battery light doesn't mean you need a new battery it means that the battery charging system is faulty, that is the alternator and the voltage regulator, the lights are on because the system voltage is low, they will not turn off until the charging system problem is diagnosed and repaired.
if the car is still over heating then check the fan and see if the fan is kicking in.
Also most of the new cars after replacing the thermostat, you need to clear the fault with a computer as they get stored on the system and will not clear from dash. Even though you have replaced several parts and everything is working fine. system will need to cleared.
Not to put you or anyone down. But people have to read their owners manual before doing anything with the battery. Some cars require constant power, IE applying power thru the cigarette lighter. To keep from having a dealer to clear a security problem. since you have a GM product. Try a reset. turn the key on for ten minutes, off for thirty seconds. Then try to start. If this doesn't do it , Take it to a delaer.
charge the battery. disconnect the cables and hook it back up. you should be able to turn on the ignition key to clear out message. if that doesnt work you can plug in an odb reader and clear out the codes.
did you put the unit in with the battery still connected? you my need to disconnect it, for a few seconds, then reconnect it, cycle the key on and off 3 to 4 times, (not start ,just on) , then try to start it, if that doesn't help you my need to get an obd on it and "clear all" then try again.
i'm having the same issue. Dealer said the battery won't hold it's voltage; swapped in a new one. But also said that's independent of the "service security system" fault; which they say might be the ignition module. Were you able to fix your problem?
You probably need a new battery if it won't turn over fast after a few hours of charging (depending on the size of charger). This has nothing to do with the speed sensor. When you put in a new battery, clear the computer (disconnecting the battery will probably do that. Then see if the computer still says the sensor is bad. Chances are the new battery will solve everything.
I believe you need a new switch in drivers door goto a wrecker , new GM ones are $$$$$, happened to me, i just unhooked battery to clear a CEL and had window open at the time ( won't do that again ) and door locks and drivers window won't work ,, checked fuses ,everything good then took door apart and put power to window motor was able to put it up, googled and found lots of people in same boat , hope it works for you ,,,,D
You better have the alterntor checked, you said the battery was putting out 12v. was that with the car running or off? If it was running, it should have pushing between 14 and 15 volts, if it wasn't with it running, replace alternator.
