2003 CHEVY TAHOE 5.3 VORTEC 4X4 STALLS WHILE DRIVING. IT STALLS I PULL OVER & THERE IS SOME KIND OF MOTOR THAT RUNS THEN SHUTS OFF BEFORE I CAN GET OUT AND POP THE HOOD THE SEE WHERE IT'S COMING FROM. IF I WAIT A COUPLE MINS IT WILL START AGAIN AND IF I TROMP THE ACCEL IT CHUGS AND DIES AGAIN
SOURCE: check engine light is on, motor runs rough, sometimes stalls
Go to Advance or Auto Zone and have them run an obd scan on it and it will pin point why your light is on and could solve your problem. This is often done for free.
SOURCE: engine shuts off while driving
I would suspect a faulty EGR valve, but is the check engine light on? If it is, take the vehicle to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve the fault code(s) stored in the computer. Most parts stores offer this service free of charge. That will narrow the search for the problem. Sure hope this helped.

IAC(Idle air control) and or TPS(throttle position sensor)
SOURCE: 2002 Chevy Tahoe sputters and stalls out while driving.....
Fuel filter. Timing/timing chain. Idle air control valve. Idle sensor. Vacuum leak. Probably one of the above, but the filter is cheapest place to start. Change your air filter too, if you haven't for a while.
Testimonial: "Great thanks so much! This will be a place to start, more than chevy dealerships have given me! Appreciate your time :) Thanks again!"
SOURCE: car shuts off while driving
if car shuts off while driving it could be a bad crank sensor. a bad crank sensor will shut car off while driving, then it will not start for about 10 minutes, when it starts it runs fine until it goofs up again. the popping could be the sensor for it controls timing along with the cam sensor.

The electronic throttle body may be going bad . The service that runs the throttle plate may be the humming sound you hear .
The servo that runs the throttle plate .
