Any service codes present? Since you have changed out the shift solenoid and it didn't fix the problem then you have something else wrong. Codes won't necessarily tell you what the exact problem is but will point you in the right direction.

SOURCE: 2002 chrysler town and country wont leave limp mode

try getting a new shift solenoid for it. i had the same problem on my 2002 chrysler town and country and my plymouth breeze which is also a dodge product. it is very simple to do and doesnt take all that long. the part will probably run you about 150 to 200 dollars but it should fix your problem.

There is a TSB for this issue: It is in "limp" mode. It is not unusual for the Sebring - Should be covered by Chrysler.

TSB Number: 0801505

Change your speedometer sensors, one might be bad, but change both to be sure, then reset computer. To get transmission out of safe mode. Check and be sure your transmission fluid is ok while car is running and on flat ground. If low be sure to use right fluid, wrong fluid can cost you a transmission

SOURCE: where do i find the shift solenoid on an 05 impala

I have done what ronald said. I also installed a shift kit, due to a line pressure problem caused by a failing pressure solenoid. If you are having a hard jerk from takeoff, you are having a traction control sensor issue. Trust me I own a 2004 Impala ls. i have been pulling my hair out since i bought it.
Good Luck.

1990 chrysler new yorker will not shift into overdriver

You may have to have your ******/computer ran for any codes to give you a better idea of why it is limp mode. There are many causes of limp mode. A sensor or solenoid or bad wire will send the computer into limp mode. The TPS and map sensor both can affect limp mode

2007 sebring shift solenoid d

Hi there:
DTC P0765 - Shift Solenoid D MalfunctionThe shift solenoid is located inside the valve body, the solenoids are replaced as a pack not individually. see below...

When any electrical solenoid or circuit goes down, the ****** will still have the default gears of reverse, and second gear. You could unplug all the wires from any automatic ******, and you will still have the default, or ''limp in'' gears , to get you home or to the garage. If you have no forward or reverse, then you have a major internal ****** problem.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Car goes into limp mode wont come out of 2nd

That happened to my '95 OLDS Aurora... Turned out to be 1&2 gear shift solenoid had "popped" out. He replaced new solenoids and a factory patch kit and ****** shifts like brand new. Hope that helps you cause that was less than 10% the cost of a new/rebuilt transmission!

My trans is stuck in second gear. Is that what

The town and country vans are know for transmission problems and it would not be stuck in 2nd gear if it was in limp mode. Limp mode typically controls the engine. I have seen people do a transmission flush/filter and add lucas to temporary fix the problem. There is also a good chance that the transmission has a solenoid problem preventing it from shifting into any other gears but second. Hope this helps!
