SOURCE: Mercury grand marquis 1997 temperature control

I'm not sure if yours is identical to mine since yours is second gen and mine is third gen, but with mine (1998 MGM), the heat was stuck on all the time. Full heat would practically cook your feet and you couldn't shut it off.

It was a servo/servo arm that controls the hot/cold mix door. The part was $15. The labor was $700. They had to take the entire dash out of the car to get at the part. Required two more visits due to a missed electrical connection to a daylight sensor and a vacuum issue that made the car stall when put into reverse.

My car had 150K on it at the time. Has 165K on it now. Still runs great and looks great. It's now my wife's auto and I drive a 2006 MGM.

Why do the traction conrol buttom keep popping up when i cut it off

Have someone look at the rear Emergency brakes. The traction control counts the tire revolutions on the rear wheels. Loose pieces of the rear emergency brakes interfere with the count. This will reoccur every time the car is restarted.

2003 mustang when traction control light comes on the car lose power almost like shutting down, when it goes off it pick up speed.

The traction control system DOES cut your engine power when the tires spin. That is by design. The system cuts engine power to stop the wheels spinning and restores power once the wheels regain traction. It feels odd when the tires spin and power cuts out. It's good practice to lift off the accelerator when the system kicks in. Otherwise, if you are on gravel or slick streets the tires may spin, stop when traction control kicks in, and then spin again when power is restored. It is not an "elegant" solution but it does work for the most part.

I have a 98 grand marquis and the traction control kicks in a 35mph and its like it doesn't get any more power. Does anyone know what could cause this?

Traction Control kicking in would mean that one or more wheels were slipping (as in ice and snow).
Usually, traction control won't get you any more 'power' but will just prevent a slipping tire/wheel from slipping too much by applying brakes to the tire/wheel in question.

Good luck on this.

2003 Grand Marquis LS Ultimate ac switches from blowing in dash vents to defroster vents on its own. What controls the valve and where is it located?

Does it only change when going uphill, or under heavy acceleration? Or is it just when ever it feels like it? Generally, it's vacuum controlled and on a Ford, loss of vacuum when accelerating or pulling a grade under heavy loads can be normal, causing the air to come out of the defrost. To answer your question, the blower door is located in the dash, generally behind the radio area.

Good luck!
