SOURCE: P0344 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Intermittent (Bank 1 or

The camshaft sensor is located right above the crankshaft pulley on the passengers side of the front cover of the engine. It will be a 3 pin sensor either gray or black in color. There is a pointer that is attached to the sensor and it is either gold or silver in color. There is also a recall out on this camshaft sensor. If the color of the sensor is black then it should qualify for the recall. If you get in touch with a Ford dealer they should be able to help you with your recall if the sensor is black since it is a safety recall. As far as your exhaust pressure sensor it is located on the front of the engine right by the heater core hose a little to the passengers side of the center of the front of the engine. there will be a tube attached to the bottom of the sensor that goes from it to the front of the exhaust manifold on the very front of the passengers side exhaust manifold.

SOURCE: P0344-Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit

I have just replaced one myself. The part is very easy to get to. its on the engine towards the top. All you have to remove is the air filter box and move one large hose out of the way. There is only (2) 8mm bolts holding it in place. They do need to be torqued to 155 IN-LBS though when you replace it. Sadly, after I replaced mine and cleared the codes, the same P0344 code comes right back. The intermitten one this time. I was told to check the wires for a short on the cam sensor I replaced and the crank sensor as well. The camshaft position sensor was only $37 at Autozone. Shop around though. I was quoted up to $70 for it. I saw online that some people had problems with aftermarket ones and only got theirs to work after installing a genuine one from the dealer. I havent called them but am guessing it will run close to the $70 range from them. Good luck with yours. Check this site to see how to change it, it helped me a great deal.www.ptcruizer.com/cam-sensor-repair.html Its basicly step by step with pics.

SOURCE: I have a P0011 "Camshaft Position/Bank 1 code.

OK check the CMP sensor connector for cleanliness, sometimes oil can get in and disrupt the signal transmission to the ECU. Check the wire loom continuity all the way back from the CMP to the ECU. If the error code persists remove the cam sensor, clean its tip of any debris and refit.

Before you replace a part you may or may not need . Why ? What code ? Does the vehicle run ? There has been a lot of confusion on these vehicles with variable valve timing , mixing up cam sensors with camshaft actuators
DTC P0008: Engine Position System Performance Bank 1

DTC P0009: Engine Position System Performance Bank 2
The presence of DTCs P0008 and P0009 along with P0016, P0017, P0018, and P0019 indicates a possible condition with the primary timing chain and the alignment between both intermediate sprockets and the crankshaft. Or, the crankshaft reluctor wheel has moved and is no longer referenced to top dead center (TDC).

?€¢
Observe the scan tool CMP Desired, Actual, and Angle Variance parameters before a DTC sets. This may help to isolate whether a condition is specific to one camshaft, one bank, or caused by a condition with the primary crankshaft timing.

I'm sorry but when dealing with these problems your best bet is to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop , I have never see a DIY'ER correct the problem with these , an in the end always end up taking it to the dealer .

2005 Neon engine light came on and stays on. Car drives okay. Has around 34,000 miles. No other problems

Take it to Autozone or Advanced auto and get an engine diagnostic and ask them to printout the results. Most times it's a sensor.
