SOURCE: how to remove heater core
You have to remove the dash in layers. There's a whole bunch of screws to take out. The heater core is located in the middle of the dash near windshield when you get that far. There are a couple of brackets that hold the heater core in place, remove the heater hoses and pull out heater core. It's quite a long process so give yourself plenty of time.

it is located under the dashboard against the firewall of the passenger seat. i recomend buying a repair manual from your local auto parts store before attempting as it requires draining, flushing, refilling and bleeding the cooling system as well as removing many other componets like the entire dashboard and thermostat
