I recently replaced the A/C pulley bearing due to a growling noise. the pulley is quiet now but when the clutch engages it slips. there was only 1 spacer between the clutch and pulley when i removed it so i reinstalled that one spacer. i did nothing to the magnetic coil and was extra careful not to pry on or bump it. i also tried installing the clutch without the 1 spacer but it rubs when the compressor is off. not sure what else to do and cant seem to find replacement parts if theyre needed. the compressor its self is in great shape and was working fine before i pulled that pulley off. also i tested the circuit for the coil and the coil its self and im getting normal operating voltage when engaged and am reading about 4 ohms on the coil. is there anything else i can do to possibly make the clutch engage fully maybe something that will increase the friction between the clutch and pulley?
When the A/C clutch is not engaged is the space between the pulley and the clutch plate with in specs?

You may want to try adjusting the clutch. I think Dodge have adjustment options. it seems that the throw out bearing is too close to the clutch and does not "throw out' as it should.

you check at your local library for a price guide to let you know how long the job should take and then you can call local repair shops to ask how much they charge per hour for the job

There is too much air gap between the hub and pulley. Usually, there are shims under the hub to set the proper gap. If you remove the small bolt in the center of the hub, it should slide off. There should be shims that look like small washers on the compressor shaft. You may need a magnet to get them out while the unit is on the vehicle. There are different sizes available and you have to remove smaller ones to reduce the air gap. These shims usually come with a new clutch, but a dealer or parts store should be able to come up with just the shims. I just searched Google shopping and found shims available for $13-$14. You need to find a combination of them that is a few thousandths of an inch thinner than what is in there right now. A new clutch looks to be around $80-$90. I hope this helps. Good luck.

if the freon pressure is too high or too low there are two seperate pressure sensors that will disable the a/c clutch to prevent dammage to the compressor. You need to check (or have it checked, dangerous if you do not know how) the pressure on the high and low ports while you have you jumper wire in place and the a/c is running. Fan clutches for Envoys and Trailblazer are a problem, they go out all the time.
However, it is normal for it to do this when cold, but will only stay engaged for maybe 15 seconds AFTER you've put it in gear and have started to drive. After this, it will disengage and allow the engine to warm up faster.
If you haven't already replaced the fan clutch once, you're lucky. 2002 is especially bad for the clutches, but all years don't last long. Mine lasted 90k which is pretty long.
