I have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country minivan. There are two 12 volt power outlets on the center stack - one is active only when the key is on, the other is supposed to be hot at all times - battery direct. The battery direct one is dead. According to the owners manual there is no user servicable fuse on this outlet. - it must be serviced by the dealer. I would like to get it working again, without paying the dealer. Is there a hidden fuse, or a circuit breaker for this power outlet?
Im sure of a fuse somewere and its probably a large one.
if the unit shorts it has to have a fuse first thing.
you may find a fuse under the hood in the fuse box.
and then you may find a fuse in the unit itself .
the other thing is to remove it and connect it to another car battery.
if you have a bad unit then a salvage yard in your area should have one.
also test the power in your car going to the unit.if its set to run all the time then theres a fuse at the battery or the fuse box.
one other thing is check for recalls
you may get lucky.
hope this helps
