Make sure vehicle is in park pull back selector and place in park again and try key -can push selector in park position and try remove key at same time --if battery dead boost vehicle and turn key off --there have been past problems with this happening in captivias aveos and a few other s with the problem either being ignition switch /cylinder ///park selector people have tried up to 10x before key came loose -- under key cylinder or steering column should be a small plug or hole either a strong piece of wire or small screwdriver to fit up hole you should be able to push on a key release button and turn key --if and when or if can drive over to a dealer you should be under a warranty and have problem checked

2014 Chevy Captiva. A 16 oz soda was dumped on the dash and it ran down into the passenger defrost vents. Nothing ran out. Will anything be harmed?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

No it will be fine and it should evaporate. The only possible problem might be if the soda got as far as the blend doors and glues them to together. Run air through it and change AC to Heat and through all the vent positions for a few days.

  • key off, key on ,ACC or running? 4 mode KEY what?
  • engine running or not, if not running the accessory delay relay drops all that out. in 10min./ RTM
  • now read the manual for your truck, cost zero to get. from FORD. read up delay word !
  • must be a new truck to you no?
  • cars have 2 to 4 or more fuse boxes, and covered
  • in the glove box users guide, lost that? but yes vast fuses and relays.
  • I bet some things work in ACC (key position)

  • the delay relay drives fuse F2.401, windows. power.
  • when delay times out the fuse goes dead, relay opens.
  • this is no 1990 or older truck
  • this relay save damage to the battery.
  • 5 fuses run the cluster all are KEYON only power.
  • one fuse is memory hot all the time does not count
  • one fuse is run ACC power.
  • one more for fun, RADIO power
  • if those things fail all the time ,any key position
  • or engine is dead say so
  • and scan the PCM.

I have a 2014 Chevy captiva put the key in it won’t come back out absolutely no power in car not even four way flashers work key fob not working either

Firstly, change the battery in the key fob, next, make sure the car is in park when removing key, try stepping on the brake pedal too. Next, have the ignition switch tested..the key cylinder should not be worn out on a 3-4 year old vehicle? Also verify battery has power.

2014 Chevy Captiva heater blowing cold air

Check the blend door motor for function. Chances are that either an HVAC fuse is blown or the blend door actuator has stopped functioning.

2006 Chev Cobalt won't crank...no lights, no sounds nothing. When tried to get the key out it won't go past the ACC position? Any ideas on the problem?

Is the battery dead? Check your battery condition and connections. Check your starter fuse from there. Check the connection to the starter then progress to the ignition side of the concern

    Starter on 2004 chevy trailblazer

If you can't get the key out of the ignition, it's probably the ignition switch (where the key goes in) that is bad, not the starter. The starter is on the right side under the exhaust manifold behind the right front wheel. It's not easy to change on those unless you know what you're doing.
