what is the temp you are at ? -1-20 check the fuel line is feeding fuel. you may need to take the pipe off and use a syringe plunger see if the fuel can fun free. they put water in fuel ( fuel don't freeze but the water does) and this can freezes and not get through the filter. ice blocks it up. failing that try some easy start. or leave the engine over night with a few blankets over the engine . stops the engine freezing over. some nice thick one's this may help.
Sure, CLEAN your battery cables - ESPECIALLY the bottoms. The bottoms are exposed to grease, road grime and when covered in "gunk" causes resistance. When you jump start or hit key multiple times, cables heat up and expand making better contact. Advise - clean ALL cable ends
Most likely you need a new Ignition switch. The small "tickler" wires on your solenoid are staying on. You can disconnect the small wire from the Solenoid and then put a test light on it. Turn the Ignition to Start and see if the wire stays hot when you release the key.
Another problem you could have is the Starter has such a bad intermittent short in it, that it keeps the points welded together after the key is released from the Start position. You can get a starter Draw test done at some parts stores like Autozone or Oreillys to name a few, they do it free and on the truck.
Hi, Check and make sure the starter relay is not sticking. If it is not, then the bendix in the starter is probably bad or not shimmed properly. You can check the starter when you remove it, be careful of the torque. Good Luck to you. Hope this Fixsya!
