Run the fault codes and look for a faulty vehicle speed sensor as it controls power to the speedo/ odometer
if there are no codes ,check wiring connections but leave the cluster to the last

The only way is to send it to a place that rebuilds them to be fixed. or you can go to a wrecking yard and get a instrument cluster and replace your old one. there is paper work that has to be done in recording the mileage on the truck with the original assembly and the mileage showing on the replacement assembly, when and who replaced it, in order to have the correct mileage known by the department of transportation so you won`t get in trouble with tampering with the odometer.

Where is the odometer cable in my s10 chevy pickup? the odometer suddenly stopped working.

the odometer usually runs off the cable that operates the speedometer, if the speedometer is working there is a problem with the odometer, you may have to replace the speedometer to fix the problem.......hope this helps......cheers

I have a 98 s10 pickup and it has an electronic odometer that now doesn't work. It's not even lit up. All the other guages are working though. What do I do?

you have to remove speedo assembly find a out fit who repairs them or get one from grave yard that works its a 50 50 chance,or take back to gm for repairs

ODOMETER STOPED WORKING.

The gear on the end of the odometer cable probably has excessive wear which causes the odometer cable to spin. It is not completely worn out or it would not function at all; however, the fix is probably going to be the same as if it were broken; i.e., remove your present cable and replace with a new one.
