Which is the windshield wiper relay on a 1998 ford ranger the wipers only work on high
The problem would be in the stalk controller. The wiper Relay is what provides power to the motor for all settings, the delayed wipers, low speed, and high speed. There are not 3 relays, but 1 for all functions. If you have power to the high setting, the relay is working.
That's normal on some cars.
Did it ever work intermittent at hi speed?
My car is wired to go intermittent only at low speed.
Hope this helps.

I have a 94 E350, and mine has 2 fuse boxes. One is under the steering column at the driver's seat, by the brake pedal. The other is under the hood, when you're facing the van it's just a little to the left and below the driver's side battery.
I have the 89-96 ford full size van chilton. I emailed scans of the fuse diagrams to [email protected]. The password is chilton. Go to asiamail.com, type in chilton for email address and chilton for password and click enter. Lem me know via that email if that was the wrong thing.

Check for blown fuses or go outside and turn the wiper on and see if you can hear the wipers trying to move. The bushings under the wiper arm might be stripped or not properly aligned. You might have a short somewhere also. Electrical problems can get expensive.

this might be a connection/ currosing problem. Check the windshild wiper relay for loose wires and then take apart the connection. Clean them up and put back together. also check your fuses.

check to see if you have corrosion in the fuse box or the GEM module, by removing the fuse box completely, disconnect the battery, take out the two screws and two 8mm bolts that hold the fuse box in, it will take some maneuvering to get it positioned right to disconnect the two wiring harnesses from the fuse box, they are bolted through the middle. Once removed, take the GEM module off the back of the fuse box and look for what would be something like the same corrosion you would see on your battery posts, usually one of these components is corroded and causing the problem, my buddy got a replacement fuse box for his from a wrecking yard for only 15 dollars, with all the fuses and relays. If you have this corrosion, then you probably have a windshield leak at the lower left hand corner of the windshield, it lets water drip onto the fuse box and GEM module. Hope this helps, let me know
