I have a 1984 motorhome that is on a Chevrolet P30 chassis with a 454 chevy engine. The oil pressure gauge has pegged all the way to the high end. It stays there all the time. It does not matter if engine is running or off, or if the ignition switch is on or off. It remains pegged in the high position at all time including with the wire disconnected from the oil pressure sending unit. The engine only has 30,000 miles on it and it runs great. What would cause this gauge reading? Thanks!!

I actually fixed the problem this morning by replacing the oil pressure sending unit. Others said it was either a short in the wire between the gauge and the sending unit or the gauge was faulty, but the sending unit was the problem. Thanks for the assistance though.
