We had this problem and just actually fixed it today. Had tried a passenger side door switch but that didn't help. We ended up buying and replacing the drivers side door switch and that solved the problem of our passenger side window not going up or down. The driver side switch is a one piece unit available from the dealer and it controls both driver and passenger side windows.
That sounds like the switch is failing to me. Many times these switches get wet and or dirty which causes them to fail to make a proper contact. I have sprayed many of these switches with electrical contact cleaner and seen them work like new. I would try that first before replacing the switch.
Verify the wiring harness which passes under plastic step & carpet at front passenger side. This wiring harness goes from the firewall to the pillar on the right side and some have crimped connectors in them to act as junction between two or more wires (ususlly the 12volt feed), which deteriorate with time, especially with Salt & Water. Then the electric sliding door stops working and even driver the electric seat can loose power.
