Did they do a fuel pressure pressure test to determine that its fuel pump? And if so what was the p.s.i.?It should be around 55 to 60 p.s.i. a few pounds under 55 p.s.i. Pump needs replaced, Your shop should have chk. this when it was there the first time. Did they by chance chg. the fuel filter, that can hinder it from starting too.
Testimonial: "it was the fuel pump thank you"

I had same problem. I would sometimes also leave the door open with lights on inside for 5 mins - then I could not start car, and key would not release.
I had a bad cell in the battery. Replaced the battery and all worked fine.

I trust this is a throttle body fuel injection system?
If it is: purchase a "noid" for your vehicle at an autoparts store this little tester will let you know if your injectors are working. if they are not; they will not be spraying gas into your "bowl" the injectors are little electrical powered solenoids; check fuses, fuseable links and, the efi module.

Ignition switch and neutral safety switch. Next time it happens wiggle thekeys in the ignition switch and try to restart. If it starts its probably the ignition switch. Then locate neutral safety switch on brake pedal and put meter on B+ wire from switch to starter relay and see if you get B+ on the would -be- crank. Next locate B+ wire from starter relay to starter hook a meter to it and see if you get B+ on the would -be crank.
Where ever B+ is missing is your problem.
