Wire 12 volt outlet switched by the ignition

I have a 12 volt add on heated seat that I want to turn on/off with the ignition. The existing outlet is on all the time and has drained the battery when the heated seat was left on. I installed and wired a new 12 volt outlet. The outlet is next to the existing one with a ground wire in the metal floor. I added a fuse tap to slot 13 (HTD/SEATS) with 2 10 amp fuses to power the outlet. I don't have heated seats so I thought it would not be in use. I was hopping it would be not be powered when the ignition was off, but that was not the case. How can I wire wire my new 12 volt outlet so it turns on/off with the ignition.

Wire it up to the spare in your fuse box. one side is on only when your ignition is on .fitted with an online switch .to switch on and off.

SOURCE: car wont start

I noticed you replace the crankshaft sensor, but not the CAMshaft sensor.
The Ignition module takes the input of both sensors to tell the coil when to energize.
This sensor should come up as an error code when you attach a obd reader.
Even if your light is not on - there may be a code. If it is not your vehicle originally, some people pull the bulb!

SOURCE: 2002 Pontiac Bonneville. Both passenger

I have a 2005 Bonneville and lost my driver seat heater. The typical problem is a broken wire or connection in the seat section of the seat. If you're lucky, it may be a simple break like mine was; under the seat.
I pulled my seat out to work on it. Here's a picture of my broken wire towards the rear:

zeevert_12.jpg But, that didn't fix my problem. I also had a bad module. The control module is the same for both seats, so I was able to switch the modules and get my driver seat heater working. Here's a picture of the module. The module cost at the dealer is about $80-100(?)

Any can tell what the 6 wires on the ignition loom want to fit turbo timer ?

Use a volt meter. with the ignition off see what pins have 12 volts. turn the ignition on, see what additional pin has 12 volts. turn the ignition switch to accessory, see what additional pin had 12 volts.

89 ford F 150 . Lost fire to fuel pump and spark to plugs at the same time

There is a bad connection . Could be a loose fuse. loose wire , faulty circuit breaker . or ignition switch. If the fault is still there start at the ignition switch hot wire should be 12 volts, turn on ignition should be 12 volts on + terminal of ignition coil and 12 volts at fuel pump. if not repair as required .

Add 12 volt outlet switched by ignition

Look in your owners manual for the accessory fuse. That line turns off. Also, consider a 12 volt relay between the seat and your power source. A small toggle switch will work well for a relay.

Add 12 volt outlet switched by ignition

maybe try getting your 12v feed from the radio power, this should be connected to the ignition switch and will run when the key is turned to accessory or the ignition is turned on

Hi, I have a 2001 Mazda Millenia S. The light for my heated seats come on, but there is no heat in either the driver's or passenger's seat. What could be the problem?

Mazdas are pretyy bad about the seat heating elements burning out. To verify that the problem is not the circuits to the elements, remove the 4 bolts holding the seat to the floor and tilt the seat back. Find the 2 pn connector for the heating element under the seat. (On the driver's side it will have a White and Red wire and a Yellow and Red wire. On the passenger side it will have a White and Red wire and a Green wire) Disconnect the connector. Using a standard 12 volt test light and a paper clip, use the paper clip to connect on end of the test light to the White and Red wire and probe the Yellow and Red (or the Green wire) with the test light probing end. With the ignition switch on and the seat switches turned on, the test lamp should light up. If it does, you need to replace the heating element in the seat. If it does not light up, post a comment to let me know, and I'll talk you through diagnosing the heater circuits.

No 12 volts to ignition coil

on a lot of plymouth acclaims ,there is no fuse marked ignition. what I would do is check for voltage at the ignition switch. if no voltage is going thru it. then the ignition switch is bad. check the wires from switch, and turn key to accy, then check wire. then turn to run and record voltage.

CAR TURNS OFF WHEN RUNNING NO SPARK ON SPARK PLUG WIRES

First check to be sure that you have constant +12 volts to your ignition wire (red). Also be sure that there is +12 volts on the yellow wire when the key is in the start and run positions. If both of the above are true, then the problem likely exist in the ignition coil. Replace.

Not getting 12 volts to ignition switch after

Check first the wiring of the remote start. If you have an existing security system, have it check it may have triggered it. Check as well the connections of the relay.
