"Perform Service" system warning in the overhead is for the crankcase filter, located under the plastic faux valve cover. It should be replaced at least every 67,500 miles. Be sure you have replaced this before you reset the warning. This filter is part of the EGR and once it is full, it could cause pressure to build resulting in an oil leak. Totally different from regular oil change service requirements.

TIP: Buy the filter from a cummins parts facility (over the road truck service center) and save 50% at a minimum over what the Dodge Dealerships are charging for the filter. I was quoted $150 through Dodge, I paid $62 from Cummins.

If you live in CA, the dealership must perforne that service for free. It's in your manual. :) I was quoted 700 until I pointed that out.

I want to limit speed in a 3500 dodge 2014

This isn't a popular request but I did some research on this question and I have good news. You can have the ECU reprogrammed and have the speed limit reduced. The process will lower both the speed limit and the speed limit with the cruise control activated. For some reason Dodge, at this time, isn't involved in programming these vehicles, at least not in my area. But I contacted Cummins and they have purchased the software to perform this task. The service is about $250.00 and it takes an hour to do. You need to call Cummins (truck engine division) for an appointment. Any other questions please ask away and I'll do my best to help, good luck.

Clearing the perform service light on a 2007 6.7 cummins

Take the truck to Autozone or similar business and get a free scan of the computer. If the scan finds no trouble codes, the scanner can clear the light. Hope this helps!

07 dodge cummins perform service how to reset

Hello rjessop.
Here you are.
I think you are speaking of the maintenance light.

If it doesn't clear the first time you may need to repeat it.
  • 1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start engine).
  • 2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three times within 10 seconds.
  • 3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Lose power while driving

Hi. I had the same problem on my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins. I went to the dealer and they did a bunch of diagnostics and they replaced my fuel pump. At the same time they put in a retrofit kit that moved the fuel pump to the inside of the gas tank. I have not had the problem since. The cost was about $1,200, but my 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty covered it and I had to pay the $100 deductible.
