If it has just a key for the ignition then you would need to remove the ignition and take it to a locksmith as well as a door lock, so both keys can be made. If it is just 1 key that operates all locks, remove the passenger door lock and take them to a locksmith. I am a locksmith and we charge $20 per lock, if you can bring in the parts. If we remove them the price goes up.

I lost my key to a 1997 Chev blazer

That is not true..You have to remove the steering wheel to get to the retaining clips that secures the key cylinder. If you still have your original purchase papers you can go to the dealer and they can cut you a key...If your car is used or you don;t have the key codes. You will have to go to a auto locksmith (and a good one to have this done.) The key cylinder reads a resistance in the pellet and it has to match the one programmed into the cars bcm (body control module) or the car will not start. Just any cylinder and key won't do... it has to be coded to the bcm.

Need new key

If you have the key code from when the van was new you can get it that way. Otherwise a locksmith is likely the least expensive choice here, call around to a few to compare cost.

Lost key from 1997 chev G-1500 van. Can't afford

If you take the VIN number to your local Chevrolet dealer parts department, they have the key codes. If it has electronic access locks, they can order you a new fob for it but they are expensive.

Looking for key code in owners manuel to replace lost key

Your local Chevrolet dealer can cut you new keys with your serial # and proof of ownership. If you have lost a keyless remote as well you will need to get them reprogrammed so the lost one will not open your truck anymore. Good Luck

Where is the ignition timing bypass connector on a 1994 Chev. Silverado CK2500? After putting in a new distributor, now trying to set the timing. Need to find the bypass connector in order to override...

I think 94 is still OBD1 computer system. Have you ever run codes on it? If so the diagnostics terminal will over ride the computer when running so you can set timing. Just get a .99 cent code key from Autozone or use a paperclip.
