Had this on 91 lesabre, wire going to crank sensor had bare spot and occasionally bumped on eng block above sensor, would die, but started right up again, if going straight, could shift to neutral and restart while coasting. Dangerous when turning corner
can't help you but I have a 1993 LeSabre doing the EXACT same thing! I am sacared to drive it, never know when it will happen. Never know if I stop at the store if it will start back up. I have to drive in the right hand lane just in case it dies so I can pull over! I hate it!
did you clean the idle speed control air bypass valve?, u do this by spraying carb spray into the intake while the engine is held at hi idle so it won't stall, use up about half the can, then shut down and disconnect battery for 5 minutes to reset system idle learn, drive the car for a few days and let me know if the problem is fixed.
that is a common problem with upper intake ..when starts going bad usually you will have excessive white smoke out exaust pipe or check oil on the dipstick for milky color oil . if it gos bad it will cause the motor to hydro lock. thats when antifreeze gos into the clyinder causing the motor to lock up.. and as cost most places charge $1100 to $1500 for that repair..most of the time you wont see a leak because it leaks inside the motor. hope this helps
