Your ultradrive transmisson has failed, and your stuck in limp home mode. you have 3rd and reverse.

that was the good news.

the bad is that you need a new transmission. the ultradrive transmissions are very problematic. do a wikipedia.org search on chyrsler ultradrives and than write a really angry letter.

your not the only one that transmission has left of the side of the road

No Reverse and the fluid is dirty and smells funny.

Sounds like you blew out your reverse belt/gear in the transmission. Probably going to need a transmission rebuild/replacement.

You need to have the fault codes read with a OBD2 code reader or scanner, that is how you find out what system in the computer controlled engine is acting up.

No Bus 08 dodge avenger..windows,radio,heater...etc..no start..disconnect battery..now its running again

Just bought a 2013 dodge avenger, literally yesterday. Test drove fine twice,, drove all over town for license and registration, multiple erands. No problems. I got to work and went to leave for lunch and was introduced to the no bus code. Left me stranded the very day i purchased it,, only 25000 miles. Is this problem simple enough to weather or is this the brightest red flag to take it back?

Yes. Recharge the battery and have the alt checked out, and check the belt/ tensioner Be sure to charge the battery, the Alt is not a battery charger,

99 Sunfire Coolant keeps dumping

You need to find the source of the leak. it hasn't overheated yet because you keep catching it and re-filling. From your description, it sounds a lot like a bad water pump seal (part of pump) but without physically looking you can't be sure of that. when the pump seal begins to fail, internal pressure while running often will drive the seal tighter against the shaft stopping the leak. as pressure drops as the engine cools, the seal relaxes and permits seepage.
With time, that will change and it will leak all the time.

1999 Dodge Gr. Caravan downshifts in D. Works fine in D3

Perhaps I'm crazy, but when I ran a shop, the vehicle did not go home 'till the problem was solved and I never charged for items that did not fix the vehicle...( I had the silly idea that the customer should not pay for my mistakes .therefore in my world they already have abdicated.)
The problem may be beyond the skill level of anyone in the shop...therefore doing the same thing over and over will give you the same results. You need a fresh "eye" on the situation. Only then will you get a different result. There are "flight tests" and other diagnostics that can be done that should give you an idea what is going on.
If the repair is going to cost more than what the vehicles value is, then it's your decision about what to do. You can have the repair done, buy a different car and/or you may have some legal means of recovering all or part of what you spent not fixing the problem. These are decisions you need to make, but decide after you have the facts in front of you.
