The light is probably sending an OIL Pressure drop warning ---there is a rarity however
an oil filter may be improperly installed or the OIL Pressure connection on the oil pressure
sending unit --usually next to the filter --is loose or corroded or the oil pressure sending unit may
be going bad ---on a 2001 it is conceivable
otherwise you have an internal oil pressure leak --crank or cam bearings --bad o ringy thingy somewhere or the oil pump --may be experiencing problem too or the pick up screen in the oil pan
is somwhat clogged ---for a clog --try what's called SEAFOAM in the oil ---the stuff actually works
like it says on the can --about 8 bucks --drive for a week --say 500 miles worth and change the oil filter again --just the filter ---either way OIL Pressure is nothing to ignore ---you need to fix that
asap depending on the problem source!!!
I hope this helps

Why is my 2001 Hyundai Accent oil light blinking ?

Sounds like to me that it could be one of two things. One could be a bad oil sending unit or the oil pump could not be pumping enough oil to the engine. Even if the stick reads full, it could be the pump. I would check the sending unit first. This is the cheapest and easiest thing to replace.

Is it a problem to have had the oil level showing above the full mark on the dipstick after an oil change?

It depends if you changed only the oil or if you changed the filter as well. If the filter was changed, it is quite common for a high reading especially if you have not yet run the engine. It may show a quart high until you start and run for a few minutes. This allows the new oil filter to fill up with oil.

If you changed only the oil, you may have left some dirty oil behind and that's why it reads high. Or, for example, the actual refill amount is 4 qts. and you added 5.

Had oil changed but they forgot to put the oil dipstick back in my car. Where can I buy a replacement dipstick. Can't seem to find it online

Why are you buying one. They should be the ones buying it.Would think this would be a dealer only part.Unless you can find one at the junk yard.

Oil level no good readings, how much oil till full

generally when the light comes on in this fashion it indicates low oil. when you check the oil ... put the dipstick in one way... pull it out .. check the level... then turn the blade of the dipstick around so the other side is facing you... reinsert it into the hole and check it again... make sure the dipstick is completely seated in the pipe. i'm not sure i've ever heard of it but the baffle inside the oil pan may have broken (this prevents the oil sloshing front or back when you brake)

Hyundai accent engine oil consumption

Hi ..... With this milage I'd expect at the same time the following would have been done, valve seals changed, valve guides checked/replaced, bores honed and valves reground into the cylinder head. Not to have done any of these is false economy and bad engineering practice.
The symptoms you state, esp'ly on topping up, point towards valve seals or guides.
Take the plugs out and examine, they should all be a light tan. Carryout a compression test across the bores and come back with the results.
