A light comes on by the oil light it's a circle with a picture of a key and a line through it I didn't get a owners manual with it

There are a few circular warning lights and you didn't mention anything inside of the circle and the others had something inside of the circle so I think if you look at the picture below you will get your answer. Do you mean the "Oil" light or the "Oil Life System" light?

If the oil light is on, you need to stop operating the engine and have it checked to find out why the light is telling you that there is no oil pressure.

If you mean the Oil Life light, Then here are the instructions:

How to Reset the CHANGE ENGINE OIL Message

1. With the ignition key in RUN but the engine off,

fully push and release the accelerator pedal slowly

three times within five seconds.

2. Turn the key to OFF.

If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message comes

back on, the engine oil life monitor has not reset.
Repeat the procedure.

This should only be indicating time for an oil change. Now, if the red, check engine light comes on, then you have an oil/engine problem.

Possibly the maintenance light wasn't reset when the last change was done. If you don't have the owners manual to check, I found a referenced method (below) to reset it through AMSOIL synthetic oil products. Good Luck

To reset Engine Oil light. Turn the ignition key to RUN with the engine off. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If the Change Engine Oil light is flashing, the system is reset. The light will flash for up to 30 seconds or until the ignition is turned off. If the light comes on again and stays on for 30 seconds at the next ignition cycle, it did not reset. You will need to reset the system again.

the light is a oil chang reminder light . it needs to be rest when the oil is changed .

Hi, this light is indicating one of two things either the brake fluid needs topping up but im sure this lights up as a different light but the most likely cause of your light coming on would be that the brake are at a low level and will need replacing soon you should find that after a while the light might stay on indicating that they need replacing very soon.

If you have an owners manual it should explain in their what the lights are.
If you dont have one then just type in in your search engine "owners manual for mercedes-Benz ML320"
this should then list a load of sites that you can download a copy of your owner manual.

A circle with lines around it - depends where it is -
If its a top left light, then it should be a circle with an exclamation mark in the middle, and two lines running part way round the outside (1 to 5pm and 7 - 11pm). Thats the handbrake and brake fluid light which comes on for about 3 seconds when you start the engine ... if it comes on at any other time - seek help.
If its top centre, and has ABS in the middle, then its the anti lock braking light. Similar to above, lights up for a few seconds at start.

Muffler with lines coming off it - are they pointing outwards from the circle, (with a thermometer in the middle = transmission oil temperature guage), or are they on the left and all parallel (which would be main beam indicator, which lights up blue when on)

I believe that's the low beam headlight indicator. The circle w/ lines going to on side is the highbeam indicator. You can download your owners manual from Toyota.
