Find the transmission dipstick tube. Follow it down to the transmission. Just to the right you will see a large connector. Under that connector is the transmission control solenoid.

SOURCE: changing fuel filter on 2004 chrysler town and country

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Raise the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
    • Fuel line from the front of the tank
    • Ground strap
    • Inboard side of the fuel tank straps and front T strap fastener and lower the tank about 6 inches
    • Fuel lines from the fuel pump module
    • Fuel filter
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fuel filter bolts to 40 inch lbs. (4.5 Nm), the main tank straps to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm) and the T strap to 250 inch lbs. (28 Nm).
  4. Start the engine and check for leaks.

SOURCE: Where is the Body Control Module located?

It is located on the back side of the underdash fuse box (junction block). You remove the lower steering column cover and knee blocker reinforcement. Then remove two plugs from the bottom of the bcm.
Remove the bolts holding the junction block to dash panel mounting bracket. Remove the junction block from the bracket. Remove screws holding the bcm to the jb. Slide the bcm downward to disengage guide studs on jb from channels on bcm mounting bracket
Remove bcm from jb.

SOURCE: how to replace our low beam headlight on 1999 town and country

1.) Open the hood of your van 2.) On the passenger side of the vehicle, look behind the headlight enclosure. You will see a set of wires running into the back of it. This is the power clip. Either with your hand or a flat-head screwdriver, pop the power clip off.
3.) There is a plastic ring encasing the light bulb. Turn the ring counter-clockwise and pull it out of the socket and set it aside.
4.) Pull firmly on the light bulb to remove it.
5.) Place the new light bulb into the same opening. Be careful not to touch the glass part of the new bulb. The oils in your skin can substantially reduce the life of the new bulb.
6.) Replace the plastic ring and turn it clockwise to lock it in place.
7.) Reattach the power clip to the back of the bulb.

How serious is the code P0740 on a Chrysler town and country?

code p0740 refers to torque converter clutch(TCC) solenoid---circuit malfunction====causes wiring--TCC solenoid---ECM/TCM
When this unit becomes a problem it will indicate as no gear engagement
I would suggest that the problem be investigated before it holds you up at the wrong time.

I have a 2000 chrysier town & country 3.8 it shifts gears sometimes and then it is stuck in one gear can anyone help?

It sounds like you are either low on transmission fluid, or you have a shift solenoid or TCC Solenoid that is failing. Check the transmission fluid level when the engine is warmed up. If the fluid is at the correct level, see if your check engine light is on. If the CEL light is on, you probably have a failed Solenoid Valve. Have the code checked to find out which solenoid is faulty.
