I can not find the dip stick to check my transmission fluid.
When changing the gear from park to drive, sometimes my engine jumps. If I don't have my foot on the brake firmly, the car can move forward quickly.
The enginge also seems to skip wile driving. Like it's in nuetral for a quick second then goes back in gear.
The trannsmission is a sealed unit and there is no dipstick. Check to see if you have a leak. More than likely it sounds like your low on fluid at least a 1/2 to a whole quart. Since these are sealed units it should be taken to the dealership to have looked at. If there is not any leaks then I would add 1/2 qt of tranny fluid and try driving so see if it helped. If it helped a little but the same problems are still there add another 1/2 qt. If it doesnt solve the problem then your tranny needs to be looked at.
Unfortunately, There is no way for you to check the Tranny Fluid. Almost all Auto Makers have gone Dipstick Less in the Last 2 or 3 Years. This is a Dealer Service Item Only. I know, IT SUCKS!
I got a 07 pontiac G6, you put in in drive and it doesn't wan't to pull off very fast. when you put it in low gear it feels like your pressing the brake and the engine light is on
There is a plug that screws into the side of the transmission. Remove this plug, with the engine running only. Pour synthetic transmission fluid into the top of the transmission until fluid leaks out of the plug hole. Now it is full. Put the plug back in. IMPORTANT - If the engine is not running when you remove the plug, a lot of transmission fluid will pour out of the plug hole.

my tranny went on the car my husband changed it but we don't know how much tranny fluid to put in, how do i find out how much to put in?
Theres not a dipstick on these cars. Theres a cap on top of the transmission, remove it, and theres a small bolt on the front of the tranny (you have to get under the front of the car) next to the oil lines that go to the oil cooler. Remove that bolt and if i remember correctly its backwards threaded. Now pour transmission fluid into the hole on top of tranny, until transmission fluid pours out of the hole where the bolt was. Put the bolt back in and crank car and shift through from park to 1, then back to park, turn off car, and then start all over by removing bolt on front of tranny again. Keep doing this until when after you have truned the car off, and you put transmission fluid in, it pours out of hole on front. When I had the transmission replaced in my 06 G6, my mechanic said it would hold around I think 10 to 12 quarts of transmission fluid. Hope this helps.
Also add at least 4 to 6 quarts of transmission fluid slowly before you crank it for the first time.
