Failure in the electronic handbrake, Passat Variant 2007.
need to by pass, or discionecct hand brake, or auxiliary brake.
Things I tried so far;
I took the interruptor out and repaced by the interruptor of a similar passat, took the fuses o hand brake out,
Now I took the car to a VW car dealer
A very common fault is the switch,the calipers are not much better,they will be able to sort it for you but they are bad news for a modern car !!

how can you release the electronic brake when it won't release ?
Have 2007 vw passat with emergency brake light on and a constant beeping. Son was driving the car when this happened. He pushed the brake light button in when he stopped the car. When he got back in and pushed the button off the light started blinking and there was a constant beeping that won't stop. He drives the car 125 miles per day to school. The constant beeping is almost unbearable. Can you tell us what to do to correct the problem?
