SOURCE: I need Info & photos of how to replace the Knock Sensor wiring harness.

They sell the books for your vehicle at the parts store and I think it is called a Haynes Suburban, GMC Truck Repair Book cost between $14 to $20. That way you will have the pictures in front of you while you work. I am really not sure of the name of the book.

Hi, At cold start my Accent 2008 is knocking since apprx. a month, i went2 times and dind t hear it ! at the third times the light '' check engine'' went on . teh code of knock sensor

If you detected the engine knocking and the knock sensor also detected it to the extent it caused the ECM to set a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) then simply replacing the knock sensor was a waste of time and money, a case of shooting the messenger because you don't like the message. If the car is under warranty or guarantee then take it to the dealer for complete diagnostics. Do not under any circumstances be put off by lame explanations that they can't do anything. Take the car to other dealers to get written reports on the car. It is very important to get the reports in writing as this gives you legal protection with regard to the guarantee.

Got code po325 knocksencer/po 506idlecontrolcircuit/ purgevalve?are all on same fuse? my problems w/car are high idle/ check englite some stalling then won t start for several houds

Hello! Forget fuses...The Knock Sensor is designed to detect pinging..and the ECM adjusts the ignition timing and fuel mixture to prevent knocking to continue..
It is very difficult to replace ..however quite easy to test...Lets eliminate it first...See diagram below..Pull the connector plug and measure the Knock Sensors pin to ground (not the connector)..wire color is White...Two pins are shown in the diagram..your engine only has one pin...Set mutimeter on ohms...One meter probe on Knock sensor pin and the other on bare metal chassis ground..Knock sensor should read between 500k and 620K as in K=1000...send results...The use of a fuel too low in octane (a measurement of anti-knock quality) will result in spark knock...Send a comment with results and then we'll look at the idle air fault...Guru...saailer

How do you replace the knock sensor 1 bank 1 on a GMC Sierra 1999?

knock sensor problems arise from ---wiring --poor connections --knock sensor----insecure KS--KS incorrectly tightened ---wiring short to positive --wiring short to ground ---ECM
as you can see , there are more causes than the KS itself so care should be taken in the installation, tightening , wires and make sure that the area is water proof

GMC 4.3L DTC P0330 flashing MIL

P0330 - Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2)
A knock sensor tells the engine computer when one or more of your engine's cylinders are "knocking", that is, exploding the air/fuel mixture in a way that delivers less power and can be damaging to the engine if prolonged. The computer uses this information to tune the engine so that it doesn't knock. If your knock sensor wasn't operating properly, so that it was always indicating a knock, the engine computer's response may have been to change the ignition timing on your engine. Knock sensors generally bolt into or thread into the engine block. This P0330 code may show up intermittently or the Service Engine light may be lit constantly. Other knock sensor related DTC codes include P0325.

Symptoms: You may notice drivability problems including a lack of power and perhaps some hesitation. There may also be other symptoms.

Causes: A code P0330 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
The "B" knock sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
There is a wiring short/fault in the knock sensor circuit

Possible Solutions:
Check the resistance of the knock sensor on bank 2 (compare it to factory specs)
Check for broken/frayed wires leading to the sensor
Replace the knock sensor on bank 2

Hope helps.

Why does my car throw the code P0100 and P0325? I have a 1995 Nissan 240sx. and it has a random misfire once in a while.

Hi,

Often a single issue can trigger multiple diagnostics codes, especially if the circuits are closely related.

Code P0100 = Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit malfunction

The computer has detected an issue with the MAF sensor.

- Verify the MAF sensor wiring is connected and wiring is in good condition
- Unplug and reconnect the MAF harness
- Check that voltage to the MAF sensor is within factory spec

Code P0325 = Knock Sensor # 1 Circuit malfunction

A knock sensor tells the engine computer when one or more of your engine's cylinders are "knocking", that is, exploding the air/fuel mixture in a way that delivers less power and can be damaging to the engine if prolonged. The computer uses this information to tune the engine so that it doesn't knock. If your knock sensor wasn't operating properly, so that it was always indicating a knock, the engine computer's response may have been to change the ignition timing on your engine. Knock sensors generally bolt into or thread into the engine block.

- Check condition of the knock sensor wiring.
- Test the 'Ohms' reading of your Knock Sensor (undo the connector and measure the pins) to ensure it is within spec (ask Nissan for this measurement). If out of spec, replace the knock sensor.

Cheers,
