I need a heater control vacuum line diagram

The blower motor was replaced and then I couldn't get the hot air to come into the cab. It blows hot air but the doors diverting the air to defrost, panel or floor, will not open to allow the air into cab. I need the vacuum line diagram to find which is broken or disconnected so it will divert air.

If it will not switch to any different positions,and you did not have this problem prior to repair.Check for a leaking vacuum line to the control unit.The line should run through the firewall to the control unit.Good Luck!!!

Pull the stereo back out . they have bumped the vacuum lines that connnect to the heater near the rear of the switch ..

SOURCE: 1995 Chevy k1500 heater problems.

For a 95 Chevy Silverado....I replaced the Blend Door Actuator on the passenger side. Just behind the slide out cup holder. Yo ucan acces easily by removing the ash tray piece and the glove box....Or just the glove box and work like hell to get a socket in a tight place.

There are 2 actuators....one controlling the (Mode and Temp 89018681) and the other the (Air Inlet 89018367). I called the dealer and the parts were 85-125. I got it From TBA Auto (local store) for 39.00. A 20 min job at most.

Heater not blowing hot air

IT could be one of several things: possible the blower fan motor is bad; or the valve that lets the hot water in from the engine to the heater core is not opening; or the door that lets the air flow past the heater core and onward to your vents is not opening. All these are controlled by your heater switch, via relays and vacuum lines. If the blower motor works well when you put power to it directly, but not when it is hooked to the car, a connection in the switch or a relay may be bad. if you get little or no effort from the blower motor when you hook it directly to a good battery, it's the blower motor itself gone bad. If you get airflow but not heat, it's the device which diverts the hot water into the heater core. and if its the door to let air flow over the heater core, it could be a relay, a vacuum hose or the switch.

check to see if there is plenty of antifreeze in radiator , may have a air bubble in system .

There are several reasons why your car's heater may be blowing cold air, instead of heat. It is important to understand how the heater works in your car before you can begin to try to diagnose why it is not working. First, there is NOT an electric heater element in the heater system in automobiles, like in portable heaters used in the home. The part that transfers heat into the passenger compartment is called a heater core. A heater core can be thought of as a miniature radiator. The car engine's coolant flows through the heater core while the fan (also called a blower), blows air through the heater core fins. When air blows through the heater core fins, it is warmed, therefore warming the passenger compartment.
Start by checking the coolant. As we already said coolant is what warms the heater core. So if the coolant is low, there may not be a sufficient amount of warmth to transfer heat to the air in the passenger compartment. Since it 's cold outside, low coolant may not effect the operating temperature of the engine significantly, so you won't be alerted to a coolant problem by the temperature gage on the instrument panel. Once the coolant is full, feel the heater hoses that go through the firewall. With the engine at normal operating temperature, BOTH of the heater hoses should be hot to the touch. If only one is hot, this indicates there is is a blockage in the heater core or there is air trapped in the heater core. Using a Lisle coolant funnel is helpful in purging the air from the cooling system. If the coolant is really brown, has been neglected, or if "stop leak" has been used at some point, the heater core could be stopped up. The blockage can sometimes be unstopped by removing the heater hoses and using a garden hose with a sprayer to flush the heater core out. If neither of the hoses are hot to the touch, there could also be a malfunctioning heater control valve, if used on the model you're working on. Check for presence of a heater control valve by following the heater hoses back to the engine. Sometimes, a vacuum line could have a break causing there to be no vacuum to operate the valve. Also it should be noted that if this is your first winter with this car (and you're unfamiliar with the car's repair history), the previous owner could have by-passed the heater core because of a leak. When a heater core leaks, usually they wet the passenger side floorboard. The labor cost to change heater cores is usually expensive, so sometimes people will loop the heater hoses and by-pass a leaking heater core instead of repairing it properly.
Next check for proper airflow. After you're sure the heater core is getting hot water flow, read the following information. Doors within the heater case are either controlled by electric actuators, cables or vacuum motors. Adjust the heat control to both extremes while listening for movement of the blend door. With a cable operated heater door it's easiest to hear the door thump when it closes. If the door is not operating, find the door that controls the airflow across the heater core. If there is an electric motor that controls the door, tapping on it can sometimes make it work temporarily for testing purposes. A vacuum operated motor needs vacuum to work, so using a handheld vacuum pump for testing is usually recommended. If the vacuum motor does not hold vacuum, the diaphragm is leaking requiring replacement. To go deeper into diagnoses of the control head's function and diagnosis, specific vehicle repair manual information is needed. But hopefully the basics laid out in this article has helped to get you started on the right track.

My 1997 ford f150 heater will not blow hot air. i have replace the switch that controls the hot and cold air. i do not know what else to do. i do not heat any vacuum noise when i switch it to the heater or...

first, check under te hood to see if the heater core water hoses are hot going in and coming out. If hot going in but cold coming out, water valve (if you have one) may not be working.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION A/C Electronic Actuator
Removal
  1. Remove the floor duct panel.
    • Remove the two plastic push pins (one each side) and release the expander clip.
  1. Remove the RH instrument panel brace.
    1. Remove the lower nut.
    1. Remove the upper bolt.
    1. Remove the brace.
  1. Remove the LH instrument panel lower nut and position brace out of the way.
  1. Disconnect the vacuum harness from the vacuum actuator.
  1. Remove the floor duct.
    1. Remove the two screws (one each side).
    1. Remove the floor duct.
  1. Remove the panel/floor door vacuum control motor.
    1. Disconnect the vacuum line connector.
    1. Remove the two panel/floor door vacuum control motor screws.
    1. Slide the rod out of the door and remove the panel/floor door vacuum control motor.
  1. Remove the electronic actuator.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Remove the three screws.
    1. Pull down to release the actuator shaft and remove the electronic actuator.

My heater is blowing cold air, and it wont blow hot air even if the engine is running hot... on vent it blows hot air like it should for half a second then it blows cold again, it wont blow hot air out the...

OK, a vacuum controlled blend door is the problem.

  1. Disconnect the vacuum hose at the motor.
  2. Remove the 2 motor attaching screws.
  3. Rotate the assembly so that the slot in the bracket is parallel to the tee-shaped end of the door crank arm, and pull the motor and bracket off the crank arm.
  4. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Can't turn the heater off.

If none of the controls on the heater/AC panel are working, then you have a vacuum problem and the default position is the heater setting. There's a diagram of the vacuum system on a label on the front under the hood just in front of the radiator. It's a very simple system so don't be overwhelmed.
If the label is gone, go to your local library and check the Chilton's manual.
Your system must have vacuum to the switches for any kind of control. Be carefull of the small vacuum lines under the hood. Most at this age are very brittle.
