2005 Chevy Aveo windshield wiper knob on lever does not roll forward or backwards to turn on the wipers. The knob seems to be frozen or stuck in place. Windshield washer, back wipers and single wipe does work.

Rear washer may have it's own reservoir . Can you hear a pump humming when you activate the washer? Look in the under flooor compartment

You may want to check the switch of the wiper if there are loose connections or it may need cleaning. If that checks out ok, you may want to proceed to check the relay if it is faulty or the connection is loose. Otherwise inspect the wiper motor and the assembly for physical signs of damages.

The wiper arm could have worked up off the stem? mabey their is a set screw that worked loose that would keep it tight on the stem?

Check the fuse first it's in the underhood fuse relay panel and there names are marked on the inside of the lid (wiper) Some units have a relay too and it can fail.
